Dr. Cassandra Leigh was born and raised in the Coldwater/Oro-Medonte area. After graduating high school in Orillia, she received an athletic scholarship to attend Western University in London, ON. Here, she competed as a member of the varsity wrestling team for two years while studying Kinesiology. In her third year and after a history of injuries, she made the difficult decision to put more focus into her studies and future career in chiropractic instead of competitive wrestling. She graduated from Western University in 2014 with a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology in just three years. Cassandra then pursued a 4-year Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. She graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) in 2018 and promptly become certified in Functional Acupuncture. Cassandra began her practice in the Coldwater area in 2018 and then after moving to the Midland area has been practicing at the Georgian Chiropractic Health Centre since 2021.

While Cassandra has been involved in many different sports/teams throughout the years, her main focus was on competitive wrestling. She was a member of the Canadian National team in 2009 competing at the Victory Cup in Turkey and the Pan American Championships in Nicaragua, placing 3rd and 2nd respectively. Her athletic background, injuries and associated therapy, piqued an interest in the human body leading to her career in chiropractic. Cassandra has experience as an on-bench trainer for the North Central Predators, volunteer assistant coach with the Mariposa wrestling team, and a trainer/first aid provider for wrestling at the Ontario Winter Games.

Cassandra’s personal experience with athletics and training, along with her current interests in recreational sports and active living give her a unique perspective into injuries and treatment that she looks forward to sharing.
